Certainly, you’ve never seen a home so interwoven with everything and yet so peaceful as life near EC close to Aurelle of Tampines: close to the bustling city one instant, still as can be at another moment. Could there be anywhere else such diverseness in such close quarters? I for one can’t think of any place like it and so will continue to let good luck take me wherever it may.

Imagine waking up early on a Sunday morning and being at a loss whether to relax with the newspaper in bed or go shopping. The choice is not easy! And those choices can really add flavor to our otherwise monotonous lives. That old truism about variety being the spice of life is still true today!

And for the – er, fifth? time, did I mention that Bedok Mall is so close? It’s a shopper’s heaven, a water tick on your bucket list you never realized until you went. You go in wanting just a loaf for breakfast and come out with everything-denim jacket, DVD player…almost.

But if it is a kiss from nature herself you seek, Bedok Reservoir Park will be the place for that. Pale blue water shimmers in shades darker or lighter depending upon where the sunbeam hits it just so. Families picnic, joggers sweat by in orderly solitary lines, and kayak persons paddle about while others bathe on shore nearby. M-m, grass a little pond lilies. Can you smell them as well? And it smells so good!

The reason people really work to live close to the residential precinct is schools, schools and more of them. Tan Tsze, Temasek University, Junior College; you name them and we got ‘em all here within tolerable walking distance. Feeling smarter already, are you? And knowing the schools are near to home makes getting them up feel marginally less painful every morning. Special hello to those beleaguered but alert parents who get up before their cup of coffee I see rushing past- you’re doing great jobesthough!

It’s like everybody keeps a secret and is part of it. What finally makes living in the district so flavorful though, Im scared that you may think just mine words. Whether you are casually taking your dog for walk after supper- it’s usually 20 hours out of 24 without any human company at all,-or playing golf in the mornings at Bedok nine-hole course, thi The first time a person brings his dog there won’t be any rude surprises for the rest of the world if we can keep an eye on him; as such To find them the best steak or simply offer an opinion about whether NOW is indeed going to be OK for us to go into their club–all this could be yours if only I knew where to send it.

Our ace-in-hand: public transportation. Trains ready to spirit us away when called like some kind of urban genie, and buses for when we’re out of coins at the station-that’s transport on wheels with none of nasties if all goes well.

It is not just a place you move to when you reside right next door to Aurelle of Tampines, it is an experience shaded into consideration with all possibilities at your fingertips. So what exactly is day-to-day life here like? Surprisingly smooth, yet dashed with a little unforeseen adventure -two such turns as Hurricane Hugo pointed out in his National Public Radio debut.
